As an adult, I would love to attend a TED conference. The TED website tagline says it all, “Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world.”
There are so many interesting and up and coming topics discussed as well as the opportunity to meet people who are as curious and interested as I am in “ideas worth spreading”. This looks like a great opportunity for a group of HWRHS students to experience TED. The application can be found here.
“TEDYouth 2013, themed “The Spark,” is a free event taking place on November 16, 2013 at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana! A total of 400 students between the ages of 12 and 18 from the New Orleans area will be admitted to attend based on this application form. While we wish we could allow all interested students to attend TEDYouth, we will be selective with applications due to the volume that we receive. We recommend that you apply to attend as a group of students (up to five students).
Applications are due October 15, 2013. We look forward to reading your applications! Any questions? Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.” (TedYouth website)
