Today we had an amazing day with our freshman. Along with over 40 FROSH volunteer upperclassmen, the freshmen experienced a jam packed day of basics, schedule experience, meeting their teachers, workshops and a club and activity fair.
The workshops were all designed to give our new Generals the basics of what they will need to know to be successful. They included:
- HWRHS Expectations
- Student Wellness
- Essential People at HWRHS
- Leadership and Getting Involved
I’m sure all of this information came at the 9th grade students like an avalanche. Fortunately their FROSH Mentors will be there to help them throughout the school year. Tomorrow, the FROSH Mentors will certainly be welcome faces when the freshman end up going the wrong way or have trouble with their lockers. Not to worry though, in no time they will become pros and blend right in.
Our students are our strength. I am always amazed at the numbers of upperclassmen who volunteer each year to be FROSH Mentors so that they can help out the newest members of our family! With their passion to be a member of a great school, we will all be successful. We welcome to all of our new students and look forward to a great school year!
