A Message to the newest Generals…Class of 2020.

THIS MESSAGE WAS SENT TO ALL INCOMING GRADE 9 STUDENTS AT HWRHS.

Hello members of the HWRHS Class of 2020!

We have about two weeks left of the summer and I wanted to check in to let you know how excited we are to have you as a new student at HWRHS! The summer is flying by and before you know it, you will be a General!

As we approach the start of the school year, keep in mind that our athletic teams will begin their practices the week before school starts.  Check out the athletics webpage for the most up-to-date registration information.

If you would like to get a jump on your community service requirement, the community service webpage has the most up-to-date information.  All 9th-grade students are responsible for 10 hours of community service.  Community service must be completed at a recognized non-profit organization. Volunteer work after July 1, 2016, can be used for the grade 9 requirement.

Don’t wait to start your summer reading! Your book discussion group will meet during the opening days of school and you will need to be ready to fully participate in the discussion!

Make sure your parents have signed up for a date for you to pick up your iPad.  Information about our 1-1 program can be found on the 1-1 Learning Webpage.

Orientation for the Class of 2020 is Tuesday, August 30th.  You will start your day in the HS auditorium and then meet your mentors.  The rest of the day will include short workshops, meeting your teachers, touring the school, and learning about clubs and activities.

We are excited that you will be joining the General’s family!

Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Mr. Tracy
